3D Systems LaserForm CoCrF75 (A) is a cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloy grade printed by laser powder bed fusion, here in the annealed condition. Laser melting leaves this alloy with a very fine cellular structure, high residual stress, some anisotropy between build directions and a rough surface, and parts need supports that are cut or machined off. Annealing relieves the residual stress and homogenizes the as-built structure, giving up some strength for greater ductility. Printed parts are used for dental frameworks, medical device components and wear- and corrosion-resistant industrial parts of complex shape.
