CoBMo
metalCoBMo is a cobalt-based alloy containing molybdenum, belonging to the family of high-strength refractory metal systems. This material combines cobalt's excellent corrosion resistance and high-temperature stability with molybdenum's contribution to hardness and strength, making it relevant for demanding structural and functional applications. The alloy is used in aerospace components, wear-resistant coatings, and tool applications where both toughness and resistance to thermal cycling or corrosive environments are critical; engineers select CoBMo-type systems when superior performance at elevated temperatures or in aggressive chemical environments justifies the material and processing cost compared to conventional steels or superalloys.
