Celion 3000 (Celanese) carbon fibre (3,000-filament tow) in an F670 (PMR-15) (Hexcel) polyimide matrix, supplied as 8-harness satin weave. Carbon/polyimide serves the highest sustained temperatures of the common structural composites, above what BMI will tolerate. It is reserved for engine and exhaust-adjacent structure where the thermal requirement justifies its difficult processing.
