BrN3
ceramicBrN3 is an experimental boron nitride ceramic compound with a unique ternary composition that combines boron and nitrogen in a non-stoichiometric ratio. This research-phase material belongs to the boron nitride family, which is valued for exceptional hardness, thermal stability, and chemical inertness, making it a candidate for extreme-environment applications where conventional ceramics may be insufficient. While not yet in widespread commercial production, BrN3-class materials are being investigated for next-generation thermal barriers, cutting tools, and high-temperature structural components where the novel stoichiometry may offer improved performance or processability compared to conventional hexagonal or cubic boron nitride.
