AZ31B is a wrought magnesium alloy containing aluminum and zinc, widely used in aerospace, automotive, and defense applications where lightweight structures are required. The alloy offers moderate strength (yield ~160-275 MPa depending on temper), good corrosion resistance, and low density (~1.8 g/cm³), with F (as-fabricated), O (annealed), and H24 (strain-hardened) tempers providing increasingly higher strength at the expense of ductility.
