AerMet 100 Steel STA
VerifiedmetalAerMet 100 is a high-strength martensitic steel alloyed with cobalt, nickel, molybdenum, and chromium, designed for critical aerospace structural and fastener applications requiring exceptional strength-to-weight ratios at service temperatures to 350°F. The STA condition (solution treated and aged) achieves ultimate tensile strengths of ~280 ksi with good fracture toughness and fatigue resistance, making it suitable for landing gear, airframe fittings, and high-performance fasteners in military aircraft.
