Bambu ABS is Bambu Lab's grade of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene filament for fused deposition modeling, extruded through a heated nozzle layer by layer. Printed parts are anisotropic, weaker across layers than along them, and show visible layer lines. ABS shrinks as it cools, so it tends to warp and split between layers unless printed on a heated bed in an enclosed chamber. Overhangs need removable supports, and surfaces can be smoothed with acetone vapor. Parts in it are used for functional prototypes, enclosures, jigs and fixtures, and components that need more toughness and heat resistance than PLA. Every value on this page is read from Bambu Lab's own material data sheet — quoted, cited and dated — and is the maker's statement about printed material, not a measurement by MatWorld; none has yet been reviewed by a person.
