7049/7149 Aluminum T73
Verifiedmetal7049/7149 aluminum is a high-strength zinc-copper-magnesium alloy used primarily in aircraft structural components and landing gear requiring superior fatigue resistance and stress-corrosion cracking (SCC) resistance. The T73 temper is overaged to provide improved SCC resistance at slight strength reduction compared to T6, maintaining excellent bearing and shear properties with yield strength around 450-475 MPa and ultimate tensile strength around 520-540 MPa.
