EOS StainlessSteel 316L-4441 is a 316L austenitic stainless steel powder grade from EOS, built into near-fully dense parts by laser powder bed fusion. Rapid melt-pool solidification gives a fine cellular and columnar austenitic structure that is stronger but less ductile than annealed wrought 316L, with properties that differ between build direction and layer plane. Parts are built on supports and carry residual stress, so they are usually stress relieved before removal from the plate. Sealing faces and fits are typically machined or polished from the rough as-built surface. Typical uses are corrosion-resistant fluid-handling components, manifolds, heat exchangers and fittings with internal channels. Every value on this page is read from EOS's own material data sheet — quoted, cited and dated — and is the maker's statement about printed material, not a measurement by MatWorld; none has yet been reviewed by a person.
