13Cr-8Ni Austenitic Stainless (var. 14)

metal

13Cr-8Ni is a precipitation-hardening austenitic stainless steel that combines chromium and nickel with significant aluminum content to enable age-hardening response, delivering a balance of corrosion resistance and high strength in a single-phase matrix. This alloy targets applications requiring both excellent aqueous corrosion resistance (like 300-series austenitic stainless) and superior strength levels beyond what conventional solution-annealed austenitic grades provide, making it relevant for aerospace, oil & gas, and demanding structural environments where weight reduction or high-load bearing is critical. The addition of molybdenum further enhances resistance to chloride and localized corrosion, positioning this variant as an intermediate solution between commodity stainless steels and premium nickel-base superalloys.

RoHS, REACH, and Prop 65 statuses are validated against official substance lists (ECHA SVHC Candidate List, OEHHA Prop 65, RoHS Annex II). Other regulations are estimated from composition and material classification. All screening is a starting point for due diligence — always verify with your supplier before making compliance decisions.
