YbYHg₂ is an intermetallic ceramic compound combining ytterbium, yttrium, and mercury in a defined stoichiometric ratio. This material belongs to the family of rare-earth mercury intermetallics, typically investigated for specialized electronic, magnetic, or structural applications where the combination of rare-earth elements provides unique quantum or thermal properties. As a research-phase compound rather than a widely commercialized material, it represents exploratory work in functional ceramics where engineers and researchers assess potential for low-temperature physics, semimetallic behavior, or phase-change applications.

Regulatory Screening

Environmental

RoHS, REACH, and Prop 65 statuses are validated against official substance lists (ECHA SVHC Candidate List, OEHHA Prop 65, RoHS Annex II). Other regulations are estimated from composition and material classification. All screening is a starting point for due diligence — always verify with your supplier before making compliance decisions.
