Yb₃Y is a rare-earth ceramic compound composed of ytterbium and yttrium oxides, belonging to the family of rare-earth sesquioxides used in high-temperature and optical applications. This material is primarily of research and specialized industrial interest, valued for its thermal stability, optical transparency in the infrared spectrum, and potential as a host matrix for laser-active dopants or as a refractory component in extreme-environment systems. Engineers select rare-earth oxide ceramics like Yb₃Y when conventional ceramics cannot meet combined requirements for thermal shock resistance, chemical inertness at very high temperatures, or specific optical/photonic properties.

Regulatory Screening

Environmental

RoHS, REACH, and Prop 65 statuses are validated against official substance lists (ECHA SVHC Candidate List, OEHHA Prop 65, RoHS Annex II). Other regulations are estimated from composition and material classification. All screening is a starting point for due diligence — always verify with your supplier before making compliance decisions.
