Y5Ir2 is an yttrium-iridium intermetallic ceramic compound that combines a rare-earth element with a platinum-group metal to create a high-density ceramic material. This composition is primarily of research and developmental interest, studied for applications requiring exceptional thermal stability, chemical inertness, and potential high-temperature strength. The yttrium-iridium system represents an emerging class of advanced ceramics that may offer advantages in extreme-environment applications where conventional oxides or carbides show limitations.

Regulatory Screening

Environmental

RoHS, REACH, and Prop 65 statuses are validated against official substance lists (ECHA SVHC Candidate List, OEHHA Prop 65, RoHS Annex II). Other regulations are estimated from composition and material classification. All screening is a starting point for due diligence — always verify with your supplier before making compliance decisions.
