UB2Ir3 is an intermetallic ceramic compound combining uranium and iridium, belonging to the family of refractory metal borides and intermetallics with extremely high density and hardness. This material is primarily of research and specialized industrial interest, pursued for ultra-high-temperature applications and advanced nuclear or aerospace contexts where conventional ceramics or metals reach their limits. Its exceptional density and refractory properties make it a candidate for shielding, wear-resistant coatings, or high-performance structural applications in extreme environments, though it remains largely experimental outside niche defense and nuclear research programs.

Regulatory Screening

Environmental

RoHS, REACH, and Prop 65 statuses are validated against official substance lists (ECHA SVHC Candidate List, OEHHA Prop 65, RoHS Annex II). Other regulations are estimated from composition and material classification. All screening is a starting point for due diligence — always verify with your supplier before making compliance decisions.
