Thulium sulfide (TmS) is a rare-earth ceramic compound belonging to the rock salt structure family of lanthanide chalcogenides. It is primarily of research and specialized industrial interest rather than a commodity material, valued for its unique optical and thermal properties derived from thulium's electronic structure. Applications span infrared optics, solid-state laser hosts, and emerging high-temperature semiconductor research, where its rare-earth character enables functionalities difficult to achieve with conventional ceramics.

RoHS, REACH, and Prop 65 statuses are validated against official substance lists (ECHA SVHC Candidate List, OEHHA Prop 65, RoHS Annex II). Other regulations are estimated from composition and material classification. All screening is a starting point for due diligence — always verify with your supplier before making compliance decisions.
