Meltio Titanium 64 is Meltio's Ti-6Al-4V wire printed by laser wire-feed directed energy deposition, here in the heat-treated condition. Deposited bead by bead, it forms dense near-net shapes with columnar prior-beta grains along the build direction, fine martensitic alpha laths, residual stress and a rippled surface that is machined off. Heat treatment relieves the stress and transforms the martensite into a more ductile alpha-beta structure, while the columnar grains and their anisotropy largely remain. Typical parts are large titanium preforms and structural components finished by machining, often on hybrid machines, as well as repairs and features added to existing titanium parts. Every value on this page is read from Meltio's own material data sheet — quoted, cited and dated — and is the maker's statement about printed material, not a measurement by MatWorld; none has yet been reviewed by a person.
