ThBiTe

ThBiTe is a ternary ceramic compound composed of thorium, bismuth, and tellurium elements, representing an experimental thermoelectric or semiconductor material in the heavy-element ceramic family. This material is primarily of research interest for thermoelectric applications where the combination of heavy atoms and mixed-valence chemistry can generate favorable phonon scattering and electronic transport properties at elevated temperatures. Engineers considering ThBiTe would typically be investigating next-generation waste heat recovery systems or high-temperature energy conversion, though the material remains in the research phase and has not achieved widespread commercial adoption compared to established thermoelectric alternatives.
