TbHg is an intermetallic ceramic compound composed of terbium and mercury, representing a rare-earth mercury system of primary research interest. This material belongs to the family of intermetallic ceramics studied for their unique structural and electronic properties, though it remains largely experimental with limited industrial deployment. Potential applications lie in specialized high-density materials research, magnetic device development leveraging terbium's rare-earth properties, and thermelectric or optoelectronic studies where the mercury-rare-earth combination may offer unconventional functionality.
