· TaCoON2

TaCoON2 is a ceramic compound combining tantalum, cobalt, oxygen, and nitrogen—a research-phase material belonging to the oxynitride ceramic family. While not yet established in widespread industrial production, materials in this composition space are investigated for high-temperature structural applications and wear-resistant coatings due to the hardness and thermal stability potential of transition metal oxynitrides. Engineers considering this material should treat it as an experimental candidate requiring verification of processing routes, mechanical properties, and cost-effectiveness relative to established alternatives like tungsten carbides or titanium nitrides.

RoHS, REACH, and Prop 65 statuses are validated against official substance lists (ECHA SVHC Candidate List, OEHHA Prop 65, RoHS Annex II). Other regulations are estimated from composition and material classification. All screening is a starting point for due diligence — always verify with your supplier before making compliance decisions.
