· SmOF

SmOF (samarium oxide fluoride) is an inorganic ceramic compound combining rare-earth and halide constituents, belonging to the broader family of rare-earth oxyfluoride ceramics. This material system is primarily of research and developmental interest, explored for applications requiring thermal stability, optical transparency in specific wavelength ranges, and chemical resistance in harsh environments. SmOF-type ceramics are notably studied as potential host matrices for rare-earth dopants in photonic applications and as refractory or protective coating materials, where their mixed-anion composition offers advantages over simple oxides in tailoring mechanical and thermal properties for specialized engineering niches.

Regulatory Screening

Environmental

RoHS, REACH, and Prop 65 statuses are validated against official substance lists (ECHA SVHC Candidate List, OEHHA Prop 65, RoHS Annex II). Other regulations are estimated from composition and material classification. All screening is a starting point for due diligence — always verify with your supplier before making compliance decisions.
