Sm₃Mg is an intermetallic ceramic compound composed of samarium and magnesium, belonging to the family of rare-earth magnesium ceramics. This material is primarily of research interest rather than established industrial production, investigated for potential applications requiring the combined benefits of rare-earth elements and lightweight magnesium matrices. Engineers would consider this compound for specialized high-temperature applications, structural components in aerospace or automotive contexts where weight reduction is critical, or functional ceramics where rare-earth properties (thermal, magnetic, or optical characteristics) are leveraged alongside magnesium's inherent lightness.

Environmental

RoHS, REACH, and Prop 65 statuses are validated against official substance lists (ECHA SVHC Candidate List, OEHHA Prop 65, RoHS Annex II). Other regulations are estimated from composition and material classification. All screening is a starting point for due diligence — always verify with your supplier before making compliance decisions.
