ScB12 is a scandium dodecaboride ceramic compound belonging to the rare-earth boride family, known for exceptional hardness and high-temperature stability. It is primarily investigated for ultra-hard cutting tool applications, wear-resistant coatings, and high-temperature structural components where extreme hardness and thermal shock resistance are critical. ScB12 represents an emerging alternative to traditional hard ceramics like boron carbide and tungsten carbide, particularly valuable in applications requiring both hardness and superior thermal performance at elevated temperatures.

RoHS, REACH, and Prop 65 statuses are validated against official substance lists (ECHA SVHC Candidate List, OEHHA Prop 65, RoHS Annex II). Other regulations are estimated from composition and material classification. All screening is a starting point for due diligence — always verify with your supplier before making compliance decisions.
