Scandium arsenide (ScAs) is a III-V semiconductor ceramic compound that combines a rare-earth metal with a metalloid element, forming a high-hardness crystalline material. This compound is primarily of research and development interest rather than established commercial production, with potential applications in high-temperature electronics and optoelectronic devices where the wide bandgap and thermal stability of III-V semiconductors are advantageous. ScAs remains largely experimental; the broader III-V semiconductor family (GaAs, InP) dominates industry, but scandium-based compounds are being investigated for next-generation high-power and high-frequency applications that exceed the performance envelope of conventional alternatives.

RoHS, REACH, and Prop 65 statuses are validated against official substance lists (ECHA SVHC Candidate List, OEHHA Prop 65, RoHS Annex II). Other regulations are estimated from composition and material classification. All screening is a starting point for due diligence — always verify with your supplier before making compliance decisions.
