· S20 Ge8 Tl8

S20 Ge8 Tl8 is a chalcogenide glass ceramic composed of sulfur, germanium, and tellurium—a compound belonging to the family of infrared-transparent glasses and amorphous semiconductors. This material is primarily researched and developed for mid- to long-wavelength infrared (IR) applications where conventional optical glasses fail, and for specialized electronic devices exploiting the semiconductor properties of its constituent elements. Engineers select chalcogenide glasses like this for their broad infrared transmission window, chemical durability in certain environments, and potential for fiber-optic and photonic device fabrication, though they typically remain in specialized or research-phase applications rather than high-volume industrial use.

RoHS, REACH, and Prop 65 statuses are validated against official substance lists (ECHA SVHC Candidate List, OEHHA Prop 65, RoHS Annex II). Other regulations are estimated from composition and material classification. All screening is a starting point for due diligence — always verify with your supplier before making compliance decisions.
