RhC

Rhodium carbide (RhC) is a ceramic compound combining rhodium metal with carbon, belonging to the family of refractory carbides known for extreme hardness and thermal stability. While primarily of research and specialized industrial interest rather than commodity use, RhC is investigated for high-temperature applications where conventional carbides fall short, particularly in aerospace and chemical processing environments where corrosion resistance and thermal shock resistance are critical. Its nobility (rhodium is a precious metal) makes it cost-prohibitive for most applications but valuable in situations where performance in harsh conditions justifies the expense.
