UltiMaker PC is UltiMaker's polycarbonate filament grade, printed by fused deposition modeling into tough, heat-resistant parts. It is extruded at high nozzle temperatures onto a heated bed, preferably in an enclosed chamber, because the material warps readily and its layers bond poorly if they cool too fast, and the filament absorbs moisture and must be dried before printing. Printed parts are anisotropic, weaker across layers than along them, and show visible layer lines; they are translucent rather than optically clear. It is used for functional prototypes, jigs, fixtures and enclosures that must withstand impact and elevated temperatures. Every value on this page is read from UltiMaker's own material data sheet — quoted, cited and dated — and is the maker's statement about printed material, not a measurement by MatWorld; none has yet been reviewed by a person.
