PmHfO3 is a rare-earth hafnium oxide perovskite ceramic composed of promethium, hafnium, and oxygen. This is an experimental research material studied primarily for high-temperature dielectric and ferroelectric applications due to the high ionic charge density of promethium and the thermal stability of hafnium oxide. While not yet commercially established, materials in this perovskite oxide family are investigated for advanced capacitors, radiation-resistant electronics, and next-generation thermal barrier coatings where extreme chemical and thermal stability are required.
