Pm₂MgS₄ is a rare-earth magnesium sulfide ceramic compound combining promethium with magnesium and sulfur phases. This is an experimental/research material studied primarily for its potential in high-temperature and radiation-resistant applications, as the promethium component offers unique thermal and nuclear properties not available in conventional ceramics. While not yet commercialized at scale, materials in this family are investigated for specialized aerospace, nuclear, and advanced thermal management systems where extreme conditions exceed the capabilities of standard oxide or nitride ceramics.
