NaYF4

NaYF₄ is an inorganic fluoride ceramic compound, specifically a sodium yttrium fluoride that belongs to the family of rare-earth fluoride materials. It is primarily valued as a host material for lanthanide dopants in photonic and optical applications, where it enables efficient upconversion luminescence and downconversion processes. The material is increasingly adopted in biomedical imaging, solid-state lighting, and security applications due to its transparent optical properties and ability to convert infrared or ultraviolet radiation into visible light—functions that conventional ceramics cannot match.
