MoNbOFN

MoNbOFN is an experimental oxynitride ceramic compound containing molybdenum, niobium, oxygen, and nitrogen elements, representing research into refractory and high-temperature ceramic systems. This material family is being investigated for extreme-environment applications where conventional oxides or nitrides alone prove insufficient, particularly in aerospace and energy sectors seeking materials that maintain stability under corrosive, high-temperature, or thermomechanically demanding conditions. The oxynitride class offers potential advantages in tailoring phase stability and oxidation resistance compared to single-phase ceramics, though MoNbOFN itself remains largely in the research phase with applications still being evaluated.
