MoKO₂N is a molybdenum-based ceramic compound combining molybdenum, potassium, oxygen, and nitrogen phases. This is a research-stage material in the family of mixed-metal oxynitride ceramics, which are investigated for high-temperature structural applications and functional coatings where conventional oxides or nitrides show limitations. While not yet established in high-volume industrial production, materials in this family are of interest for aerospace thermal protection, catalytic applications, and wear-resistant coatings where chemical stability and hardness at elevated temperatures are required.
