MgTaAs is a ternary intermetallic ceramic compound combining magnesium, tantalum, and arsenic elements. This material belongs to the class of advanced ceramics and intermetallics, and appears to be primarily a research compound rather than an established commercial material. The magnesium-tantalum-arsenic system is of interest in materials science for potential applications requiring high hardness, thermal stability, or specialized electronic properties, though industrial adoption remains limited and the material is not yet widely deployed in conventional engineering practice.
