EOS NickelAlloy HX is a grade of Hastelloy X, a solid-solution-strengthened nickel-chromium-iron-molybdenum alloy, made by laser powder bed fusion. As printed it has a fine cellular-dendritic structure with columnar grains along the build direction, so its properties differ between orientations, and it carries residual stress and a rough surface. Parts are usually stress relieved before removal from the plate and supports, and are often hot isostatically pressed or solution annealed to recrystallise the structure and close porosity. They are used for gas turbine combustor parts, fuel nozzles and heat exchangers that need oxidation resistance at high temperature. Every value on this page is read from EOS's own material data sheet — quoted, cited and dated — and is the maker's statement about printed material, not a measurement by MatWorld; none has yet been reviewed by a person.
