BaNaOFN is an experimental ceramic compound containing barium, sodium, oxygen, fluorine, and nitrogen—a multi-anion ceramic belonging to the oxynitride or oxyfluoride family. This material is primarily of research interest for its potential in solid electrolytes, ion conductors, or functional ceramics where the combination of fluorine and nitrogen dopants may enhance ionic transport or create novel dielectric properties. While not yet widely deployed in production, materials in this compositional family are being investigated for next-generation solid-state batteries, electrochemical devices, and high-temperature ceramics where conventional oxides reach their limits.
