AZ91E is a cast magnesium alloy containing aluminum and zinc that is solution heat-treated and artificially aged to the T6 condition, providing improved strength and hardness compared to as-cast material. This alloy is used primarily in aerospace and automotive applications where lightweight castings with moderate strength and acceptable corrosion resistance are required, with typical service limited to temperatures below 120°C.
