Verifiedmetal9Ni-4Co-0.20C steel is a high-strength, low-alloy steel containing 9% nickel and 4% cobalt designed for cryogenic and ultra-high-strength aerospace applications, with the Q&T (quenched and tempered) condition providing yield strengths in the 1,400–1,650 MPa range and excellent toughness at temperatures down to -196°C. Specified per AMS 6523 for use in missile motor cases, rocket bodies, and other critical structural components requiring superior strength-to-weight ratios and fracture toughness in extreme environments.
