Farsoon 316L is a low-carbon austenitic stainless steel powder grade from Farsoon that is melted by laser powder bed fusion into dense metal parts. Rapid solidification gives a fine cellular austenitic microstructure with grains elongated along the build direction, so as-printed parts are stronger but less ductile than annealed wrought 316L and somewhat anisotropic. Parts carry residual stress and need supports under overhangs, so they are usually stress relieved before removal from the build plate and are often machined or polished where surface finish matters. Typical uses are corrosion-resistant manifolds, valve bodies, heat exchangers and tooling inserts with internal channels. Every value on this page is read from Farsoon's own material data sheet — quoted, cited and dated — and is the maker's statement about printed material, not a measurement by MatWorld; none has yet been reviewed by a person.
