2024 Aluminum T42
Verifiedmetal2024 aluminum is a high-strength Cu-Mg-Mn alloy used primarily in aircraft structural applications where superior fatigue resistance and damage tolerance are required. The T42 temper (solution heat-treated and naturally aged) provides yield strength around 35 ksi with excellent bearing and shear strength characteristics, suitable for fastener holes and highly stressed airframe components in drawn tubing form.
